Cumberland County Library

Cumberland County Library has recently added to its collection a large number of new books and audio CDs about how to find and keep a job, manage a personal budget, and pass the GED. The purchase is part of a South Jersey Works Grant from the New Jersey Library Association and Project Connect.

Cumberland County has recently purchased more than a hundred new books and DVDs about eating healthy and living healthy lives.

Cumberland County Library has received an Early Childhood Reading Grant from Target, in recognition for its efforts to encourage children to read. The grant will be used to fund three children's programs with expenses including arts and crafts events, the purchase of new children's books, and the hiring of program presenters. This grant is part of ongoing efforts by Target to strenghten families and communities throughout the country. Target has given 5 percent of its income to communities. Today, that giving equals more than $3 million per week.

Cumberland County Library has just acquired Career Transitions, a new electronic resource offering a comprehensive guide to career a change.

At a time when the need to re-evaluate, alter or develop careers is greater than ever, Gale, part of Cengage Learning, has developed a resource that is allowing libraries to help patrons through each step of the career change process. Library users may access Career Transitions at Cumberland County Library or from any computer by going to this library Web site and using their library card.
